ADC Young Guns 4!
We were included in this year’s ADC Young Guns (under 30) Selection
The Guns were drawn!
“Controversy always surrounds renegades. ADC Young Guns 4, the Art Directors Club’s biennial competition celebrating future image makers opened on September 10th, 2004.
There was no mistaking that this was an event that honored the big guys, but it was the young ones who are packing.
Young Guns 4 featured graphic design, film & video, illustration, mixed discipline, new media, photography, advertising and photography created by emerging artists age 30 and under. Those honored were selected as being innovators, the best new voices in visual communications. Entrants submitted five or more pieces of work per submission. Judges, former Young Guns and ADC honorees, did not select work by category. They were asked not to judge a single entry for say, best design or best illustration, but to evaluate the each portfolio of work and decide which applicants are the trend setters, the Paula Scher’s or Annie Leibovitz’s of the future. Out of 220 entries, forty-one Young Guns were chosen. In 2004 the ADC for the first time extended the competition to artists outside of the New York area. Submissions were received from 21 countries.”
