Broadcasting Tongues creates methods & framework to enrich design understanding
Broadcasting Tongues
Broadcasting Tongues is a self initiated and ongoing investigation, including a series of lectures and workshops discussing graphic dialects and stylistic manifestations of graphic language. The research presents a range of examples which discuss graphic dialects and stylistic manifestations of graphic language, mainly by way of geographic, political, economic and cultural influences. The master classes center around reinventing tradition, both cultural and personal/local. We started our mission in Poland, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, and have visited many other places since.
Dialog Nouveau
Our lectures and workshops are visually supported by a collection of vernacular, design related artifacts and communication tools that we started in 2001, the year that ‘Strange Attractors’ was founded. Until our digital library/archive is ready, examples from our ‘Dialog Nouveau’ Collection can be seen in the slide show.
