DDA Nomination for ‘Transit’ and ADC Merit for Cranbrook Catalogue
DDA
‘Transit’ was nominated for the 1st edition of the ‘Dutch Design Awards’ in 2003. According to the jury “The Design of a graduation catalogue for an art academy can degenerate into a page-by-page struggle between students’ work it contains and the ideas of the designer of the catalogue. The designers of this catalogue have succeeded in avoiding this pitfall. They confined their own ‘thing’ to the spreads in between the various departments of the academy. This resulted in an eye-catching synergy between image and typography.”
ADC
The new ‘Cranbrook Catalogue’ on the other hand, received a ‘Distinctive Merit Award’ from The Art Directors Club. The ‘little red book’ was on display during the 82nd Annual Award Show of the ADC.
TDC
Both catalogues were honored with a ‘Certificate of Typographic Excellence’ from the Type Directors Club and were included in its annual traveling exhibition.
