Frank Havermans
NAI Book Launch

NAi publishers launch the book we designed on Frank Havermans’ work

Book Release: Frank Havermans | Architectonische Constructies | Architectural Constructions (NAi Publishers)   Book
This monograph contains both a comprehensive documentation of all the important works created by Frank Havermans since 1998 and a discussion of the surprising approaches that make his work so intriguing to so many architects. The book presents the maquettes and scale models as well as the final outcome, together with photos' of the work's materialization, a reflection of the pivotal nature of the production process. Intriguing project texts by Havermans himself explain how each work came about. For the design of the cover of 'Frank Havermans - Architectural Constructions' we used our custom made typeface 'Havermans' which is based on the reoccurring proportions, tension and visual language used by the artist. Just like Frank Havermans does in his signature cardboard models, we also left the bare material which was used to create the cover of the book visible.

Typeface
For this monograph we also created a custom typeface named after the artist. 'Havermans' is based on the typical visual language used by Frank Havermans; its reoccurring shapes , the tension and proportions that can be found in his work and throughout the catalogue for which we designed this typeface. There are three versions that compliment the body text of the book; 'Havermans Light', 'Havermans Bold' and 'Havermans Underlined which has been used on the cover of the catalogue.
